There are no longer such harsh winters that the River Thames freezes over and a Frost Fair may be held, as in Clorinda’s younger days: but there are hard enough frosts that the Serpentine in Hyde Park freezes sufficiently to permit of skating and other winter revelry.

This was so lovely. I just about bawled at Clorinda feeling so safe between her two dear loves, and we got to see G- again! And of course Sandy is cutting the (icy) rug with his graceful movements (G- liked seeing him fencing early on, is that right?). Mrs N ogling Mr N sailing around was very funny. It was like sweet postcards from the past.
