Does Dolly Mutton's home for retired prostitutes continue to prosper?

Was Mrs K sick all along with the illness that eventually killed her, or were her earlier bouts of ill health unrelated?

Yes, yes, and yes (I was thinking probably MS, of which there are cases reported that have been retrospectively diagnosed as such in the period, but baffling the medics at the time).

Matt has long held the opinion that any wife (or other permanent partner) he had would be at considerable risk, because of the number of the criminal fraternity who bear him vengeful feelings. There a number of the Covent Garden sisterhood are well-disposed towards him for putting away brutes and exploiters, and therefore give him the occasional freebie. But the thing with Clorinda does continue and is in a different category altogether.
