A message from your amanuensis

Alas, my dears, we come towards the end of the last volume that has yet been discovered of these memoirs. While 'tis ever possible that further episodes may emerge, it seems as if there is a natural break forthcoming.

And after a million +/- words, 'tis perchance a suitable occasion for a rest.

We confide, however, that there will still be some snippets and treats for the devot'd followers of Lady B- and her circle.

(And your amanuensis will then devote herself to the business of self-publication in the hopes that a wider audience may come to an appreciation of these memoirs, and that, perchance, felicity may be further maximiz'd.)

...a million words?

That's exceptionally impressive for something that, if I remember rightly, started as a three-line snippet for funsies. Congratulations! (And thank you).

More than suitable, indeed. All million words have been and shall continue to be a great comfort and enjoyment to me.

Also, I admit to a lively curiosity as to the form of the upcoming break.

Oh, I will miss it so! Like everyone says, it's been such a highlight of my days and a great comfort during some really dark times. I am VERY excited for it to be a book (books?). And just the sheer writing and plotting is a really impressive achievement, let alone the characterization and wit.

Congratulations on the milestone, and best wishes on publication in new form.

As others have said, this has been a bright spot in some very difficult times. (And it's gotten me to muttering "Hatpin time!" at various real-world occurrences, which has given me a smile albeit a grim one.) Please count me among the ones who are very grateful you've shared such a marvelous story with us.

A good writer does not only know how to write an engaging story, but also when to end it. Thank you very much for all these words (1000,000+ !!!!!) which have brightened up my days (and evenings) immensely. Naturally I will look forward to any snippets that may be popping up in the future.

This is one of those bittersweet times when one's joy at having been blesst with these narratives wars with one's exceeding sorrow that they come to an end!

A million words, though! Over almost exactly two years. WOW.

This has been such a wonderful addition to my life. I look forward to being able to buy the ebooks. :D

O no, it's ended? This makes me very sad, but thank you so much for the great pleasure it has been to read this every day - it has been the highlight of my day to read that day's entry/

I should have liked to have learned how the new Lord N's suit proceeded and how Meg found it at school - Lady B-'s set have become very dear friends to me over the year or more that you have been writing.

And a million words? Not bad at all for something that began as a three-sentence meme. I look forward to whatever snippets are forthcoming, and look forward immensely to there being a print book!!

While I am very sad to think of this story ending, I have to thank you for all the work you've put into it. It's been my pleasure the last few months to have a new update to read every morning with tea and muffins – it's become a regular part of my daily schedule. The characters and plotting and historical research are all so wonderful and charming. I've gotten great joy out of this story.
